Most HVAC companies, including Rest-Q HVAC Solutions, charge a diagnostic or service call fee that covers a technician traveling to your home and identifying the problem, typically in the range of $75 to $150 depending on the time of day and how far the visit falls outside normal scheduling. Any repair beyond the diagnosis is quoted separately once the technician knows exactly what failed. We always confirm this fee and any repair pricing with you before work begins.

Dirty or clogged air filters are one of the most common issues we see, since a restricted filter reduces airflow, makes the system work harder, and can lead to bigger problems like frozen evaporator coils or an overheating furnace. Beyond filters, we regularly diagnose refrigerant leaks, worn capacitors and other electrical component failures, thermostat issues, and drainage problems that trip a safety switch and shut the system down.

We treat a complete loss of heat during cold weather, a complete loss of cooling during a heat wave, a gas smell near a furnace or water heater, visible electrical arcing or burning smells, water actively leaking from equipment, or a system shutting itself off and refusing to restart as emergencies.
